HW# 2/4 A Piece of Technology in Classroom: Cellphone Battery Charger





          I brought my cellphone battery charger to the classroom. I would like to use this to explore the following aspects: the object itself, personal connection to the carrier/artist, and the symbolism that can be created based on the previous two aspects. If I were to teach a class, first, I would ask students to describe the object they brought to classroom and describe the function and physicality of it. That is important because students need to understand the properties, the design, and the function of this invention. Secondly, I would have the students to think about their personal relationship with this technology piece to establish the meaning and content. Lastly, I would ask students to describe what the technology piece symbolize to them. Students can answer this based on their relationship with the device in terms of design, social connotation, and the practical use of this. Thus feelings and attitude would arise. I hope from these aspects students would think about this device critically in their own ways.
